I am hoping to find a home for my dog in the Memphis and surrounding area to make the transition as smooth as possible and hopefully at least be able to know about him every once in a while as we have had him since he was a baby and this is a very hard decision but several circumstances have led us to determine it is the best decision. Can I come live with you??? My name is Gigo. I am 5 years old, will be 6 in October. I weigh about 10 lbs, am healthy and microchipped. Here is some information about me: I need to be inside dog. I only like being outside if you are. I am normally laid back& not very playful but love to be pet & in ... (Read More)the same room as my family at all times. I am housebroken - I pace back and forth & walk to back door & to you to let you know I have to go - but do have accidents when given too much water & get over excited or nervous. I will be current on shots and am healthy - I got bitten by a dog last year and had to be shaved down completely to treat the area so a patch of hair looks different than the rest but it is growing back. (I have some pictures of what it looks like if you want to see) I was not fighting by the way, the dog came after me and I could not get away :( I do not dig or chew anything & I am not allowed on furniture at my house so I will not get on anybeds, chairs or couches unless you want me to. I am crate trained. I stay in my crate while my family is not home and know to go to it without them even telling me to, when I see they are getting ready to leave. When I need to go at other times, I listen when am commanded to but I do not like my door being closed if people are home. I am a wanna-be guard dog. I bark when anyone comes up to our driveway and until they are inside and realize they are not a threat . I also guard our upstairs area barking if strangers go up. I know this can be annoying but I do stop when asked to and just want to be protective. Upkeep: I eat 1 cup Pedigree small dog dry food per day and am usually professionally groomed 2 times per year. I usually keep my hair long but you can cut it if you want to. I am very cooperative with my baths and having my hair brushed. Also, I do not shed- so I am great if you have allergies. My dream home would be with adults who are home most of the day as I am home alone too much and that makes me anxious. I am ok with older kids but not very patient with younger ones. I get nervous and moody around them if they are contantly running around and being crazy. I also just want to be pet when I want to and do not ike to be held or squeezed like kids sometimes like to do. I would love to live with another pet so that we can keep each other company. I have gotten along with all of the dogs I have been around and even a cat. (Less)

Silky Terriers originate in Australia. Silky Terriers are descended from and closely resemble Yorkshire Terriers. Silky Terriers have been officially recognized as their own breed in Australia since 1955. The Silky Terrier is also known as the Sydney Terrier. Silky Terriers became popular in the U.S. after World War II, when servicemen stationed in Australia brought the little dogs home.
