Rescue Me ID: 15-03-30-00219Simone (female)

Silky Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Woof! My name is Simone and I am a female Silky Terrier ('Silky'). My foster mom tells people the sophistication of my name matches my elegant, silky coat!%A0I have to confess I am a little confused about the turn my life just took. My family put on my fancy collar so I thought I was going to a party, but they took me to an animal shelter instead. I am happy that K-9 Angels saw me. They said they will find me a forever home and, in the meantime, I live in a nice house with a big backyard and two Poodle-mix older brothers. They think they are too cool to play with me, but that is okay. They have already taught me cool things like how to jump ... (Read More)from the floor to the bench to the bed and how to use the doggie door to go outside and potty. Most of the time, I follow my foster mom around wherever she goes. I was a little afraid of her at first, but after a night of snuggling on the bed, I think she is pretty nice.%0B%0BEven though I look delicate, do not be fooled. I am, after all, a Terrier, so I love to do things like run and play keep-away. Yesterday, I snuck out the door behind my foster mom and treated her to a twenty minute 'fun run', which is how I got the nickname Wind-Under-Paws.%0B%0BPlease let me be your best friend, loyal companion and entertainer! We believe that Simone is around 3 years old and weighs about 8 pounds. PUPPIES: Young puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vaccinated. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. ADOPTION FEE: $200 (includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, medicines and other medical procedures, if necessary) ADOPTION CENTER: 2409 Montrose Avenue (near Fairview), Houston, TX 77006 HOURS: Saturdays 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Rescue Me ID: 15-03-19-00279AGGIE (female)

Silky Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

AGGIE was saved from GARLAND Animal Shelter on 12th March 2015. She had been an owner surrender. The shelter staff labelled her as 'Fearful Aggressive' and she was scheduled to be killed. When our volunteer went to pick her up to bring her to the safety of the rescue she said she almost jumped in her arms wanting to get out of that shelter. AGGIE we think is a silky terrier / Yorkshire terrier, but we could be wrong, there is no way of knowing and being a German Shepherd Dog Rescue we are not overly familiar with the terrier breeds. AGGIE is a little over-whelmed and clearly now understanding what happened to her. She is cautious of the ... (Read More)other dogs and prefers to stay out of their way, then be amongst them. When she was being vetted and heart-worm tested which involved the drawing of blood the staff did have to muzzle her, but again I think so much has happened to this precious girl in such a short time she is just so over-whelmed. AGGIE is content being at the rescue on her perch she has created on top of the dog crate, or at night she snuggles up close to me at night. AGGIE will do great with a family that loves to have a lap dog, that has a chilled out, none crazy life. I do think that she would adapt to living with other animals but this would take time. AGGIE does get fearful and does look she will bite when stressed, which although sounds bad, this is a natural reaction for dogs to do - and so she needs a family that understands and accepts this, that will work with her to over-come her fears and equally as importantly who has a veterinarian who is compassionate and understanding too. AGGIE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated age of 3 years and at the time of rescue weighed 13.80 pounds. AGGIE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $300. If you are interested in adopting this precious girl and giving her the life she needs and deserves our application can be completed and submitted on our website under the APPLICATION tab.
