Silky Terrier

Silky Terrier Rescue Information: The Silky Terrier is an adorable little dog resembling a Yorkie. Silkies are bred to be companion animals. Silkies do fine with children but do not like to be teased. This breed does not get along well with other pets. Silkies are full of energy and personality. Silky Terriers travel well. Silkies can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.

Silky Terrier Trivia: Silky Terriers originate in Australia. Silky Terriers have been officially recognized as their own breed in Australia since 1955. The Silky Terrier is also known as the Sydney Terrier. Silky Terriers became popular in the U.S. after World War II, when servicemen stationed in Australia brought the little dogs home.
